The sibling rivalry around our house…well, it’s chronic! It’s a constant ebb and flow of playfulness followed by heated emotions and one-liners that make me cringe! “You can’t talk like that to your sister, apologize right now…!” However, when I have to immediately halt playtime because one of them has crossed the line of sibling “meanness”, I just keep reminding them how lucky they are to have each other.
“A Sibling is a Lifelong Friend.” I know, I have two, and they both have my back through the good and the bad!
Last night, my oldest daughter came to me with a beautiful sign and a “gift” she had made for her sister…out of the blue! The gifts were things she had taken out of her room; special rings, a few silly bands in a cute container she had wrapped. WOW!
The best part was that her little sister immediately ran to her room to return the favor. She re-gifted some candy and a container to her sister. OMG! I’m still smiling thinking of this sweet memory I have. I did get a bit of it on video too; proof that they love each other. Now, they, of course, were fighting within the next hour or two over silly and typical things, but at least I know I am doing something right!

Sisters! I’d love to have had one growing up. I was blessed with two as an adult and I wouldn’t trade my rough and tough brothers for a sister, but I always wished that I had one.
