Free Support Program: Healthy Families

 

Who is Eligible?

Sangamon County residents who are:

  • First or second time teen parents up to age 30 and either pregnant or parenting a child up to 2 weeks old.
  • The program is designed to assist parents and their newborns. Its purpose is to provide support and guidance to parents and to get babies off to the best possible start.
What does Healthy Families provide?

  • Home visits that are convenient to your schedule
  • Information and screening on your child’s growth and development.
  • Referrals to other services you and your family may need.
  • Information on parenting, medical services, and many more topics.
  • Services provided by a Registered Nurse
What is the cost?

All services are free.

If you qualify for WIC you qualify for Healthy Families.

 

The HFI Program is designed to strengthen the family and to involve the baby’s father and other important people in the family whenever possible.
When do services start?

During pregnancy or within 2 weeks of baby’s birth.
