Giving Thanks…Kid Style

I had the good fortune of having lunch at school with my daughters yesterday.  It was timely in many ways.  Thanksgiving is a time to reflect and appreciate all that surrounds you.  Your home, your family, food on your table; we all know the tradition.

However, nothing brings the true meaning of Thanksgiving in perspective better than a room full of elementary school children.  Their openness to the world, their bright personalities, their smiles and silly jokes; they are in one word:  thankful.

They are thankful for their friends, their family, their teachers….they are thankful just to be!

I’ve been traveling a lot for work so I’ve missed many school lunch opportunities this fall, but after today, I am grateful for the time I had with those kids!  Most of all, I am grateful for my children, my family and my friends for all of their love and support every day.  What more can we ask for?

Enjoy the time with your families!  Please note: the Springfield Moms staff will be taking vacation until Monday!  We need some down time with our families too.

Cheers!
