Attitude of Gratitude

pilgrim-thanksgivingHappy Thanksgiving to all of our readers!  Many of my friends have been sharing their thanksgiving blessings on their facebook status updates the past few weeks.  There are so many reminders of what we have to be grateful for, but nothing hits it home for me like visiting my kids at their schools.

Kids simply get it. Laugh, be nice, have fun, include everyone and sing the thankful song with pride!  The photo here is my daughter at her kindergarten Thanksgiving lunch.  She was dressed as a “girl pilgrim” her classmates were Native Americans or “boy pilgrims!”

My oldest daughter spontaneously rattled off “57 Things I am Grateful For” the other night.  Some one of them included:

everything I have, my family, my friends, my pets, my dance class, my teachers….etc.  WOW!  Maybe this parenting thing is working.

It’s so important to maintain an attitude of gratitude year-round, and when we get off track, to be open to the reminders wherever they may be.

Happy Thanksgiving!
