More than eight years ago, I sent the first e-update link to an online newsletter to a group of about 30 area moms, and I asked them to forward to their friends to help spread the word to share resources, tips and event reminders in the online newsletter.  A VERY basic website www.springfieldmoms.org was born.  I didn’t have time to keep track or file papers; so I figured other moms would appreciate the portability of online content.  What I didn’t realize was the community of friends that would be established through this virtual world of sharing information.

Cardinals game KaisersAbout a month later, a local mom mentioned she knew someone who could write articles on Book Recommendations for the newsletter.  Enter Julie Kaiser!  Fast-forward more than 8 years, and Julie has been my right hand on content far beyond the Book Nook.  Julie has been our Director of Editorial Content and Media Relations.  She’s recruited other women to write, managed all of the deadlines, editing, organizing, you name it!  Julie is the epitome of someone you’d want to work with.  Her dedication, and countless contributions to the website, volunteering at our community events, and thousands of emails back and forth over the years; Julie kept the content machine running!  We’ve shared much beyond the website as well.  Life’s challenges have hit both of us, and fortunately we can laugh and appreciate the good, the bad and the ugly.  I’m so grateful for the legacy that Julie has left behind, and ALL of us at Springfield Moms say Thank You!  We all wish Julie the best in her new endeavors, and a lifetime of friendship remains.
