217-698-3804. Illinois Humane conducts pet adoptions on several weekends each month in Springfield. All animals offered for adoption will be spayed or neutered, micro chipped, tested for heartworm and feline diseases and have required vaccinations. an application and a home visit are generally required to approve new adoptive homes. Remember this quote from an anonymous pet lover: “saving one cat or dog will not change the world, but it WILL change the world for THAT one cat or dog!”
