The Ten Things You Remember About Your Childhood …

A few weeks ago, Springfield Moms staffer and State Journal-Register columnist Julie Kaiser wrote a column about childhood memories — what we remember, what our kids will remember.

Read her column here.

After reading the piece, Dorothy Waters of Springfield called her and shared this heartwarming story.  We wanted to share it with you because it is a wonderful gift idea for the parents and grandparents in your life and your kids’ lives.  Here’s what Dorothy told Julie:

“For Christmas, I received a jar filled with the favorite memories of my five children, their spouses and my grandchildren.  The tag around the neck read Memory Jar, and the memories were written on different colored slips of pastel paper.  It was the best present ever. I read one every day, and it makes my whole day.  When I get through the jar, I’ll just start over.”

How do you preserve memories? Scrapbooks, special cards, video?  What do you remember and what will your children remember?  We want to know.  Post here or email us and share your story.

Enjoy your weekend!
