Ah, summer! We are finally outside on a regular basis and loving it all. Well, except for the big, noisy cicadas that have made their way out this year.
I had a run in with them personally in St Louis a week ago when one (without my knowledge or approval!) traveled into a Nordstrom store with me…in my dress. It took about ten minutes to figure out where that crazy thing was!
The security camera staff will have a good laugh watching me jump around the customer service area. A few days later with my kids, the cicadas were in full force from the parking lot of The Magic House in St. Louis to the front door. My oldest was quite unaffected, but my youngest and I ran screaming with disgust!
Thankfully our trip to the St Louis Zoo was unaffected. We didn’t see one cicada the whole time! We highly recommend the sting-ray cove where you and your kids can touch “stingless” rays and sharks! We were there on a Tuesday, and there wasn’t much of a wait at all!
