Sweet 16 is Here!

Boom! From baby to behind the wheel. Parenting takes you on so many twists and turns, but this one is quite a whirlwind! I remember when Amanda was a newborn, and I would stare at the baby monitor to make sure I could see the red lights flickering up and down and hear her breath while she was sleeping. I called my Mom and asked “how do you do this?” I was so worried she would stop breathing in her sleep! And so begins, the worry of Motherhood.

Flash forward 16 years, and I’ve realized that our kids function just like us: from moment to moment, day to day, and we cannot worry at every step! I’ve tried to be there for her along the way, guiding and teaching her to make good choices and explore and engage in everything! I’ve have loved every minute.

From carrying her around my hip, to discovering new sights and sounds together, hearing her first word “cat”, walking the first steps, attending her first Nutcracker Ballet….every milestone, she was growing and changing before my eyes.

I’m so proud of the woman Amanda has become and excited for all she has ahead of her! She’s a hard worker who brings a positive attitude and enthusiastic energy to everything she’s involved in. Her hard work ethic inside and outside of the classroom and the dance studio (where she spends countless hours) will serve her well no matter what career path she chooses someday!
