I remember my friend telling me at the birth of my second child, that I had given my first born the greatest gift of all, a sibling.
I certainly thought that was sweet, but now after years of watching my kids and their sibling relationship, it’s sometimes hard to see it as a gift…LOL!
This is a direct quote from our household last night: Lil sis: “Stop making me be MEAN!” Big sis: Slams her door.
Ahhh, thankfully this came at bedtime! This moments of frustration over whose turn it is, who lost which toy where, whose hair needs to be brushed, etc. are pretty constant over here! When they are tired, bored or simply in an off mood, it can escalate to levels I just roll my eyes thinking about it.
But then, come the moments that cancel all of those outs. Check out the giant birthday card that lil sis made for big sis at her recent birthday. She took the time to draw and write out the things her big sister loves. Just the other night, I found her sleeping on her sister’s bed to help protect her from the bad dreams she had recently.
