Here’s a fun summer at home (in the air-conditioning) activity you can have fun with. Kids of all ages are making slime of all types and textures. My kids favorite kind is the fluffy slime; so here’s the recipe and they made a quick video tutorial.
Ingredients:
- 2 bottles of Elmer’s Glue (the regular school size)
- 1 Bottle of Shaving Foam
- Foaming Hand Soap 4-6 Pumps
- Body Lotion 1 Tablespoon
- Food coloring or Paint (optional)
- Activator: Contact Solution OR Laundry Detergent (average 2-3 tablespoons)
In large mixing bowl, add glue and spray the can of shaving foam into the bowl and mix with a large spoon or spatula. Then, add 4-6 pumps of foaming hand soap and 1 tablespoon of body lotion. Stir until combined. If you want to add color, add food coloring or paint and stir until it’s the color you like. Now it’s time for the activator. Add one tablespoon at a time, slime should start to NOT be sticky and add the activator until slime forms (average 2-3 tablespoons of activator). Knead the slime until it’s not sticky anymore, and your slime is complete!
You can store the slime in a plastic container or ziploc bag and keep in the refrigerator for best consistency.
