- Sharing an update from the State of Illinois: In March 2020, everyone’s life changed dramatically, as COVID-19 was impacting many worldwide countries. Today marks a new hope in Illinois as we enter phase 5 of restoring Illinois. Businesses and venues can now reopen at full capacity and operations. This accomplishment is due to the hard work and dedication of tens of thousands of people in their ongoing efforts in vaccinating, coordinating community vaccinations, helping people get to a vaccination site, and informing people of the importance of COVID-19 vaccination. We recognize that the IDPH Ambassadors contributed to this achievement. Thank you!
In limited circumstances, fully vaccinated people should continue to follow mask and social distance guidelines. People should wear a mask in public transportation, in congregate facilities, health care settings, and where required by federal, state, local, tribal, or territorial laws, rules, and regulations, including local business and workplace guidelines.
It is recommended that people not vaccinated continue wearing a mask and social distance in public spaces. To read more about Phase 5 Guidance for Business and Venues, visit
