Parents as Teachers (located at Wanless School) is a parent education program for families in the Springfield School District with children prenatal to age three. PAT is grounded in the belief that parents are their children’s first and most influential teachers. PAT helps parents give their children the best possible start in life, laying the foundation for later school success. Families who qualify receive home visits twice a month with a PAT certified parent educator. In addition, parent workshops, parent-child days, developmental screenings, a lending library, and a newsletter are offered to families living in the Springfield School District.
Teen Parents as Teachers is a parent education program for pregnant and parenting teens residing in the Springfield School District. Teen PAT provides home visits to parenting teens, group meetings, and support services to promote high school graduation or attainment of G.E.D. For more information please contact the Parents as Teachers office at (217) 525-3315 or check the Springfield School District website.
