I’ve been making time to read and have a list of movies I’ve been wanting to see, and I mean really see! Not just background while I’m cleaning the kitchen or folding laundry or swiffering (yes, it’s a verb in my household) the hardwood floor. I wanted to embrace each character (Auggie, his sister Via, the parents, and the classmates) and what they had to say and learn in this journey. Wonder was one of those “to-do” items on my list, and I finally reserved the time to savor this story today. I hope you will too!
It’s about inclusion and making space for everyone. It shows the power of treating everyone with kindness. The impact of listening to others and understanding their perspective. It will be different from yours and that is okay! The book and screenplay remind us to look at someone’s heart ,and not just the package we’re all dressed up in.
