Description: The Springfield Park District’s Interurban Bicycle and Pedestrian Trail is a 7-mile recreational trail which begins at the corner of Wabash Avenue and MacArthur Blvd. The trail proceeds in a southerly direction following the abandoned Interurban Railroad Right-of-Way to the town of Chatham. The asphalt surface trail is open year-round to bicycles, skating, jogging, and hiking. The east end of the trail connects to the 2.2 Wabash Trail via a connecting sidewalk.
