Hobbs Park is located in southeast Springfield near the intersection of Fox Bridge Road and Culver Avenue. The park is bounded on the east by Fox Bridge Road. On the south are railroad tracks, Culver Avenue and a residential area beyond. On the north is the wooded abandoned railroad that eventually will become part of the park. North of the area is a row of residential lots facing Stanford Avenue. North of Stanford is Bunn Park.
This 7.2 acre park is dedicated to ball diamonds. Of the three diamonds, two are lighted and have bleachers and dugouts. The remaining field has movable bleachers. The westernmost ball diamond is known as the Kelli Hogan Field. Although the Park District does not own the Kelli Hogan field, it is maintained and permitted through the Park District as yet another venue for youth baseball/softball. A small playground near a concession and restroom building are centrally located in the park. A 30-vehicle gravel parking lot is on the park’s east side, off Fox Ridge Road. The park has only a few trees located near the parking lot.
