One of my favorite comedians, Jim Gaffigan, wrote a compilation of hilarious essays “Dad is Fat” (named after a direct quote his son wrote out years ago). Anyone raising children will find some common ground in this book. It will make you laugh out loud, nod with approval, and just overall lightens the good, the bad and the ugly moments of parenthood. His sarcasm is at its finest in his traditional “family-friendly” content delivery, and he will provide the best definition of “family-friendly” that I have seen to date.
This weekend I got to enjoy an hour outside in the sunshine, reading this book, while the kids were still asleep. It was an hour of paradise! Sunshine, laughter and no one needing anything from me at that moment in time. An hour later, when the first child comes out and finds me on the patio; she curls up in the big round chair with me. Priceless! Share your favorite moments with us; there are many and I am grateful every time.
Gaffigan is a favorite in our house too. Thanks for the recommendation!
