“As Secretary of State, it is my mission to do everything we can to protect children on our roads,” said White. “I am pleased to offer free child safety seat checks to parents and family members with young children ages eight and under. This service gives parents the added peace of mind that their children are safe and properly secured in their vehicle.”

Traffic crashes are one of the leading causes of death for children ages 4 to 14. While child safety seats can help prevent death and injury to young children in traffic crashes, statistics show that nearly 80 percent of child safety seats are installed improperly.
