Join the Illinois State Museum July 31-August 3 to celebrate the amazing Illinois Summer! This virtual event will include engaging art and science activities you can do from home including learning how to make lemon shake ups, a fun family read-aloud, and making sidewalk art. In addition to summer activities, fun facts with educational resources you can use to learn more will be shared throughout the weekend. Activities, facts, and resources will be posted to Facebook at https://bit.ly/ILSummerFacebook , and our ISM Family Fun website at http://bit.ly/ismfamilyfun. You can participate by responding “going” to the event or checking the website during the event weekend. From Friday to Sunday, you’ll find new content for your family to enjoy.For more at-home fun, reserve for a free activity kit. Activity kits will include supplies for two craft activities and a few supplies for a fun science experiment (some additional supplies needed). Check out bit.ly/ILSummerActivityKits for more information and to reserve your kits. Kit reservations required, supplies limited to 50 participants. Kit registration has ended. Pick up will be Wednesday, July 29, 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm Thursday, July 30, 10:00 am – 2:00 pm & 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm
First-Come, First Served Pick-up Times: Friday, July 31, 10:00 am – 2:00 pm or until supplies run out.
Everyone who completes an activity and shares a photo via email (events@illinoisstatemuseum.
org ) or in the Facebook event will be entered in a drawing for a prize from Lincoln’s Little Toy Shop. This virtual event is sponsored by bankwithBOS. Activities will be geared toward elementary age children and their families, but most will be adaptable to other ages.
*Prize Drawing Details: Please submit family-friendly content only. The Museum reserves the right to remove or hide any content it feels is inappropriate for its audience. Only one entry per individual for the drawing, though you may post/send as many photos as you like during the event. Winners will have to share their name and address to receive their prizes. This information will not be shared outside the Museum and will not be used for purposes other than mailing prizes.
