Claire Bitner submitted this idea for a backyard lighting refresh!
Basically, I wanted to spruce up my dingy and dark backyard with a fun creative way to hang lights on my privacy fence. I didn’t just want to use generic garden or shepherd hooks. I wanted something with an industrial feel!
I did several Pinterest searches and didn’t really see anything I liked. I came across a bunch of shelving projects done with galvanized piping and a light bulb went off in my head! I ran to Menards and was able to find the exact parts I needed fairly quickly.
From start to finish the installation took less than an hour. Total cost for five (made up six individual pieces) hooks was almost $45 (not the cheapest but they will last forever and they look AWESOME!).
The project was super easy and looks professional. They turned out perfect! I like being able to unscrew and take them down when they are not needed and/or in the winter.
I did have to use a hacksaw on the actual hooks that hold the lights because they were too long.
This definitely is the beginning of my backyard projects!
Enjoy Claire’s photos from start to finish.
