Central Illinois Foodbank was established in 1982 by a coalition of churches and nonprofit organizations concerned about hunger and poverty. Central Illinois Foodbank is a member of Feeding America, the nation’s largest hunger relief organization. The mission of the Foodbank is to collect donated food and grocery items from growers, manufacturers, processors, wholesalers and retailers for distribution to charitable agencies serving people in need.

The Central Illinois Foodbank normally distributes over eight million pounds of food annually to nearly 150 food pantries, soup kitchens, residential programs and after-school programs in a 21 county region.

In addition to the partnership with agencies, the Foodbank hosts the Kids Cafe program. Kids Cafe is a nation-wide program through Feeding America, formerly America’s Second Harvest: The Nation’s Foodbank Network that feeds children a hot, nutritious meal in a safe environment.

I would like to know what can I do to feed hungry kids; I can interpret and translate from a variety of languages, I can draw. I can cook. I want to volunteer my services as bilingual person as well. Thank you
