Substituting applesauce for butter!
“I made Michele Tungett’s delicious zucchini and pumpkin bread, and then shared the recipe with a friend. My friend informed me that for many recipes, you can substitute apple sauce for butter to cut down the fat and calories. I immediately tried that with Michelle’s recipe, adding a cup of apple sauce for the cup of butter and a little more pumpkin to keep the bread from being too dry. It is delicious! What a great way to make a healthy snack even better!”
