CANCELED
Paul Mickey Learning Series: Space, Time and the Future of the Universe
7:00 pm – 8:30 pm at the Illinois State Museum
Lecture presented by Dr. Charles Schweighauser, Professor of Astronomy/Physics Emeritus, University of Illinois Springfield
Free, donations appreciated
The several characteristics of cosmic space will be discussed, which taken together help define the Universe. The Second Law of Thermodynamics provides an “Arrow of Time,” giving us a robust idea of the evolution of the Universe from the Big Bang to its present epoch. The lecture will then extrapolate what we know about space, time and the evolution of the Universe into possible futures of the Cosmos in which we live.
Each month, the Paul Mickey Learning Series features a different speaker and topic in the Auditorium at the Illinois State Museum. For additional information, please contact events@illinoisstatemuseum.org or (217) 558-6696.
