ALL SEASON: Pose at Lincoln Memorial Garden – Pack up the family and make a trip to Lincoln Memorial Garden for safe outdoor family holiday photos! The creative duo of Tom and Cyndee Wilkin constructed a “do-it-yourself” holiday photo op in place of the garden’s annual Holiday Market. December 17 – 30 Santa’s Workshop’s Got Talent Virtual Streaming hosted by Springfield Theatre Center and Hoogland Center for the Arts. It’s just days before Christmas at Santa’s Workshop and a big blizzard has snowed everybody in! But there’s still work to be done — like getting the elves and reindeer in the proper holiday spirit with song, dance, and big belly laughs. So, elf hosts Holly Daze and Mistletoe Merryman decide the North Pole’s annual talent show must go on… line! Musical accompaniment by members of the Illinois Symphony Youth Orchestra. December 17 – “One Slice of Fruitcake” presented by the Orlando Gay Chorus. Includes silly, with songs like “Ugly Christmas Sweater” and tender, reflective songs like “We Are Lights.” This holiday online spectacular will include a variety of songs from the whole chorus, ensembles, and soloists, holiday memories, surprise visits from special guests, and silent auction. December 18: A Victorian Christmas at the David Davis Mansion, 1000 Monroe Dr., Bloomington, IL. 5 pm – 8 pm. Festive music as you walk through beautiful rooms of grandly ornamented Christmas trees and Victorian holiday decor. Costumed guides will stroll through the mansion during your visit, dressed in authentic clothing of the time. A Victorian Santa will also be in the building, so bring your cameras to capture the perfect photo with your family or friends! Gift Shop with holiday items, vintage toys and games, and gift certificates. In order to keep everyone safe and comfortable, this event requires advanced online ticketing, and only 30 tickets will be sold per half hour. Tickets are $10 each for everyone 3 and up, and free for kids 2 and under, but are required for all visitors. December 19 The Hip Hop Nutcracker Recorded Live at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, this is a holiday mash-up for the entire family. Directed and choreographed by Jennifer Weber, The Hip Hop Nutcracker is a contemporary dance spectacle set to Tchaikovsky’s timeless music. A unique and joyful event, this evening-length production is performed by a supercharged cast of a dozen all-star dancers, a DJ, a violinist, and MC Kurtis Blow, one of hip hop’s founding fathers, who opens the show with a short set.
