I love a fun and creative fundraiser! Just received news of the winning bras from Kim Dixon, owner of The Wardrobe.
Congratulations to Missy Broeker, a Springfield Moms reader and winner of the Beautiful Bras Fundraiser for Breast Cancer Awareness sponsored by The Wardrobe.
Her creation raised more than $1,300 and included votes from the son of Springfield Moms staff member Julie Kaiser, who took her kids in with her to vote last weekend. Her 9-year-old chose “Bra-Zilla” hands-down because of the cool fight scene with the GI Joes!
Second and third place winners included: Keith Kinsel, the 2009 winner, who took second place plus Dr. Diana Widicus and Ruby Widicus in third place.
There were some fabulous bras this year including “Look at those Knockers” created by Allison Klint for Springfield Moms and “Barbie Bra” created by Springfield Moms reader Amy Petersen with The Closet Guy.
Total funds raised – more than $5,000! This exceeded last years’ goal! Thanks to everyone who voted and helped to make the 3rd annual Beautiful Bras such a success. All funds raised will go directly to The American Cancer Society – MAKING STRIDES.
