The second annual Women’s Power Lunch Against Cancer is at noon on Friday, April 1st, at the President Abraham Lincoln Hotel, in Springfield.
Guest speaker and author Jackie Pflug was a passenger in 1985 during a plane hijacking. Shot in the head after hijackers’ demands went unmet, Jackie was left for dead on the tarmac for five hours. The harrowing experience prepared Jackie to fight for her life a second time, when diagnosed with cancer.
