Bob Steffan Summer Film Fest at the Illinois State Museum

The Bob Steffan Summer Film Fest films are shown on Tuesdays and Wednesdays during the months of June and July at 10:00 A.M. and 2:00 P.M. in the Thorne Deuel Auditorium.

FREE and open to the public.

June 5 & 6: The Magic School Bus Sees Stars – Mrs. Frizzle’s class wants to name a star after Dorthy Ann for her birthday, so they take a fieldtrip to see it in person first.

June 12 & 13: Life Cycle of the Honey Bee – Learn about how bees grow and produce honey in this Reading Rainbow film.

June 19 & 20: Growing Up Wild: Fish Fiesta – Learn about sharks, moray eels, octopus, and clown fish in this film all about creatures that live in the sea.

June 26 & 27: The Magic School Bus: The Busasaurus – Mrs. Frizzle’s class takes begins a field trip at a dinosaur dig and ends by traveling back 67 million years to see the creatures in person.

July 3: Backyard Safari: Home Sweet Home – Learn where animals live, what their homes look like, and how they build them.

July 10 & 11: Chickens Aren’t the Only Ones – Birds, reptiles, amphibians and even a couple of mammals lay eggs. Learn all about eggs and the animals that lay them in this “eggcellent” Reading Rainbow episode.

July 17 & 18: The Magic School Bus For Lunch – Join Mrs. Frizzle’s class on a journey through Arnold’s digestive system and learn what happens to your lunch after you eat it.

July 24 & 25: Growing Up Wild: Puppy Dog Tales – Dogs are “man’s best friend.” Learn all about puppies including those of Saint Bernards, wolves, foxes, Austrailian dingos, coyotes, and more.
