Forty of the top seniors in the area (40 mile radius of Springfield) will hit the floor with a three point contest at the half of the girls game and another three point and slam dunk contest to be held at the half of the boys game. Come to the game and enjoy the action!
At Lanphier High School, 1300 N. 11th Street, Springfield
The games are sponsored by Springfield-based Illinois Basketball Services. Admission will be $5 for adults and $ 3 for students. The girls game is scheduled for 5 p.m., followed by the boys at 6:30. The groups of boys and girls will be split into teams of 10 players each. Jacksonville High’s Jeannette Barlow and Sacred Heart-Griffin’s Mario Borders will coach the girls teams.
The girls selected to play are: Buffalo Tri- City’s Kaitlyn Tarr; Chatham Glenwood’s Tori Falter; Jacksonville’s Nicole Garrett; Lanphier’s Ayanna Scott; Petersburg PORTA’s Ashley Balster; Riverton’s Katie Blissett and Emily Maulding; Rochester’s Brooke Pasley and Carli Wiltsie; Sacred Heart- Griffin’s Anne Aiello, Brittany Bertoni and Lexie Gaffney; Southeast’s Alexandria Harden and Jasmin Jackson- Morgan; Springfield High’s Amber Cason and Kasi Korza; Taylorville’s Rani Wright; Waverly’s Rita Nickell; Williamsville’s Lauren Hollinshead; and Winchester West Central’s Tiffany King.
