To provide new mothers and new babies with the best care possible, the following policy has been recently put into place.
Visiting hours
• Normal visiting hours for St. John's Birth Center are
9 a.m. – 9 p.m., seven days a week.
• Exceptions may be made if the baby is born after
9 p.m. These after-hours visits will be limited to two
guests and for only two hours after delivery.
Guest policy
• The father/significant other may stay with the mother
at all times.
• The baby's brothers and sisters, if healthy, may visit
between 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. They may not spend the night.
• Guests are limited to two at a time, plus the support
person and siblings.
• Children under 12 years old (including brothers and
sisters) must be accompanied by an adult. The adult
is considered to be one of the two guests allowed in
the room.
• Grandparents are considered guests.
• Only one guest is allowed in the triage area.
• All visitors must be free of colds, flu, fever, rash,
diarrhea, etc.
• When guests are not in the mother's room, they must
wait in either the lobby or in a waiting room. These
areas are located on the 2nd and 3rd floors. Children
under 12 years old must have an adult with them in
these areas.
• All Birth Center guests must wear visitor badges.
These can be picked up at the Information Desk in
the lobby of St. John's Children's Hospital.
