Foot and ankle problems through all stages of life is the topic of a free seminar, “Feet for all Ages” on Wednesday, June 22nd at the Dove Conference Center, St. John’s Hospital, 619 E. Mason Street, Springfield, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.
Featured speakers will be Dr. Jasmin McGinty, Assistant Professor of Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery, Dr. John Shoudel, Podiatric Surgery, Patricia Lacy, Physician Assistant and Athletic Trainer, Erin Lock, Nurse Practitioner, and Wendy Edie, Nurse Practitioner.
There will be a question and answer session and light refreshments will be served.
Foot and ankle problems can start at infancy with toeing-in, toeing-out and flat feet and continue with bunions, hammertoes, plantar fasciitis and special issues for diabetics. “Here at SIU we’re proud to be able to offer treatment options for all ages. Pain while walking or an incorrect gait can cause many more problems if left untreated,” claims Dr. John Shoudel.
Anyone seeking more information about improving their foot and ankle health are encouraged to register for the free seminar by calling SIU School of Medicine at 217-545-7133 or register online at www.siumed.edu/surgery.
