4 Tips for Eating at Walt Disney World

Food Plans/Dining Tips:

  1. Meal plans: portions are LARGE! When you have the Disney Dining Plan, you must purchase a plan for everyone (over 2 years old) in your room. Even though you can’t share a plan, you can still share a meal in the plan. So, for lunch, order one meal for two children or 1 adult/1 small child. That way, you can stretch your dining plan meals. Otherwise there seems to be a lot of waste!  You can always buy more!
  2. Table service dining has a nicer variety, but it can add up since you have to pay the gratuity for each item, and it’s hard to secure reservations at the times you want or think you will be hungry!  The three table service restaurants that are big  hits for families with kids are 1) Boma at Animal Kingdom Lodge has a fantastic buffet! 2) the Diamond Horseshoe in Magic Kingdom’s Frontierland is a buffet served family style — delicious! and 3) T-Rex at Disney Springs is so impressive! Go there mid-afternoon for fewer crowds.
  3. Landry’s Select rewards program helps you to get priority seating at Rainforest Cafe and the Dinosaur restaurant in Disney Springs, Animal Kingdom. rainforestcafe.com/selectclub
  4. If you have older kids that don’t need to eat early, get the very latest dinner reservation. When you leave, the park will be closed and you have the park to yourself as you walk out! You might even be able to time your meal with fireworks!
