By refurbishing older computers, Computer Banc is a local not-for-profit that helps the environment and also provides computer access at home to children who are most academically at risk. More than 800 children in Sangamon County and central Illinois have received computers. To donate, please check their website for information on what will not be accepted.
Also, they offer FREE computer classes for adults 17 and older year-round, from very basic ‘First Click' classes to the more advanced ‘Introduction to Spreadsheets' and ‘Graphic Web Design.' Call for available times. There are free classes for Kids during the summer, check their website for more information.
Come Join Computer Banc's Team of Volunteers! There are typically 7 to 15 volunteers at each work session or tech night. See the website for a list of volunteer positions available and a schedule of when volunteers are needed.
