Mommy and Me Classes Printable Flier

Mommy and Me is a fun, safe fitness class designed for both moms and babies. This five week program incorporates new techniques that are both effective in you getting back in shape and stimulating for your child. We incorporate both aerobic and stretching exercises which helps condition the cardiovascular system, enhance flexibility, and build upper and lower body strength.

Children ages 6 weeks to 2 years are invited to attend.

Classes are held at Centennial Park; located off of West Wabash, across the street from Hope Church.

Where Are the Wild Things?  Annual Halloween Event

 Sunday, October 31, Noon to 5:00 p.m.
Cost (at the door):  $2 for trick-or-treaters, $1 for accompanying adults No advance ticket sales.

The Illinois State Museum has joined with the genH Coalition and WDBR 103.7 FM Radio to present the 24th annual Where Are the Wild Things?, a fun and educational trick-or-treat event. Your little “wild thing” will have a blast learning about nature, the human body, and how to stay safe and active this Halloween through games, hands-on activities, and crafts. Every child will receive a grab bag full of snacks, toys, and prizes and will also be eligible to win other fantastic door prizes. Costumes are encouraged. Proceeds from this event support educational programs at the Museum throughout the year.

This class gives you information on the natural method of infant feeding. Topics include the process of breastfeeding, how to get off to a good start, problem prevention, maternal nutrition, breastpumps, returning to work and weaning. Presented by Certified Lactation Consultants.

Carol Jo Vecchie Women and Children's Center at St. John's Hospital 9am – 5pm,

This one day Lamaze class gives you in-depth preparation for your labor and delivery experience. You and your support person will learn the process of labor and delivery in order to work together and share the birth of your baby. This class covers Lamaze breathing and relaxation techniques, comfort measures during labor, pain control options as well as other coping strategies (massage techniques, positioning.) Other methods of birth (Cesarean delivery) will also be covered in class.

Registration: Registration is required. We encourage you to register by the beginning of your sixth month of pregnancy. Please contact the Personal Birth Consultant at 744-2229 to register for this class. The fee is $65 per couple. A $10 non-refundable deposit is to be sent to the instructor prior to the first class with the remaining $55 due the morning of class. If you need to cancel this class please call the Personal Birth Consultant at 744-2229. Please dress comfortably and bring 2 pillows.

Location: Class will be held in Classroom C/D on the 4th floor of the Carol Jo Vecchie building. Please park in the ramp and enter through the lobby. Please arrive a few minutes early to collect class materials.
