Lessons From a 12-year-old

My nephew spent the night with us over the weekend. He brought his Macbook issued by his junior high. How cool is that?! I learned so much from him, and he nearly sold me on making my next computer purchase from Apple.com. It was so interesting to see how he uses his laptop for homework, iTunes and web browsing galore. Google Earth was something I had never checked out. Amazing! You can access satellite shots of your house online that are there for anyone in the world to see! A bit freaky, too, as we looked up my parent’s house and saw my dad with his leaf blower in the yard (photo from at least a year ago.) He also introduced me to www.hulu.com where we watched some back episodes of The Office together. What fun! From initial memories of my nephew in diapers, to this grown up and soon to be full-fledged teenager, it reminded me how THEY are the future leaders and how quickly time flies by.

Wow, Google Earth is really cool! I didn’t see anybody out in the yard, but I found out which of my neighbors have swimming pools!
