The 2010 Heroes Breakfast will be a colorful and inspiring event! Heroes will be recognized in these 9 categories:

  • Youth Hero: This category, sponsored by St. John’s Children’s Hospital, honors a person(s) 18 years or younger who has offered self in a heroic fashion in a time of crisis or
    has committed self in a significant, unexpected or unusual manner for the good of others or the community.
  • Military Hero: This category, sponsored by Hanson Professional Services, honors a member(s) of the military who has shown dedication to serving our country and has made a positive impact in the community.
  • Public Safety Hero: This category, sponsored by Standard Mutual Insurance Company, honors a person(s) in an emergency service field who has gone above and beyond the line of duty, perhaps by placing self in danger to save or protect another.
  • Education Hero: This category, sponsored by Horace Mann, honors a grade school, high school, or college teacher(s) who has made an extraordinary difference in the
    life of a child or the lives of many children.
  • Senior Hero: This category, sponsored by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois, honors a person(s) age 62 or above who has offered self in a heroic fashion in a time of crisis
    or has committed self in some significant, unexpected or unusual manner for the good of others.
  • Community Hero: This category, sponsored by Fit Club, honors a person(s) who has shown heroism in some unexpected or unusual way in a time or crisis or has shown extraordinary and sacrificial commitment to needs and challenges in our community.
  • Workplace Hero: This category, sponsored by Express Personnel Services, honors a person(s) who has performed a heroic act in a time of crisis in the workplace or someone who is committed to helping others in a significant, unexpected or unusual manner in the workplace.
  • Healthcare Hero: This category, sponsored by Springfield Clinic, honors a member(s) of the medical or healthcare profession who has displayed extraordinary and sacrificial commitment to saving lives, treating illnesses, and/or improving lives.
  • Civic Hero: This category, sponsored by Bunn-O-Matic Corporation, honors a person(s) in a public service field who has gone above and beyond, by placing self in danger, protecting another or by making a lasting impact in the community.

Presented by Bank of Springfield, this breakfast will benefit the American Red Cross Local Disaster Relief Fund to provide assistance to disaster victims in Christian, Logan, Macoupin, Menard, Montgomery and Sangamon Counties.
