ABC Counseling & Family Services is a local non-profit agency that helps youth and families heal from the many traumatic effects of child sexual abuse. From January 2000 to the present, there have been over 75,000 reports of child sexual abuse in the State of Illinois, not taking into account the large percentage of unreported cases. In addition to helping families heal from sexual abuse, ABC also helps families grow through adoption and provides services to both adoptive parents and birthparents. Since originally founded in Bloomington-Normal in 1992, ABC has served more than 2,700 families.
Therapists at ABC have been providing services to youth and families affected by sexual abuse in Springfield since 2007.
