The Community Learning and Culinary Arts programs at Lincoln Land Community College are hosting summer “Foodie Fun” workshops.
The following workshops run in June and July:
Grilling Out of the Garden — Thursday, June 16, 5:30 to 9 p.m. Fresh seasonal foods will be selected the day before from the Old Capitol Farmers Market. Cost of the class is $59. Instructor: Chef Denise Perry. Register for CEW 102-X50B.
Farm-to-Fork Dinner at Oak Tree Organic Farms — Saturday, July 16, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tour the farm and learn about production techniques and growing standards, then sample the foods grown there at a multi-course meal. Cost of the event is $49. Instructor: Chef Denise Perry. Register for CEW 102-AS40.
Global Grilling — Thursday, July 21, 5:30 to 9 p.m. Experience grilling techniques and recipes from Morocco, Greece, Italy and more. Cost of the class is $59. Instructor: Chef Denise Perry. Register for CEW 102-X50C.
Discovery Day: Foodie Shopping Spree— Saturday, July 23, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Beechy’s, an Amish shop near Arthur, Ill., has everything a foodie needs. Bring your cooler and shopping bags—our sights are set on food and fun. Includes lunch with an Amish family in their home. Leader: Chef Teri Branham.
Cost for ALL (Academy of Lifelong Learning) members, current LLCC students, alumni members, faculty and staff is $60 – register for CEW 120-ALL1. Cost for non-members is $70 – register for CEW 120-40A.
